Selecting a CMS for a personal homepage

Using a content management system (CMS) for a personal homepage can be difficult.  In general, CMS’s are designed for large websites with many users and are chock-full of features, functionality and options.  All of these bells and whistles come at a price — complexity.

For a personal website the need is often much different than that of a business.  Performing administration is the last thing I’m interested in doing after a long day at the office.  For me, the ideal personal website is free (open source), allows quick posting of content, simple administration, an attractive out-of-the-box (OOB) responsive design and the possibility of maybe adding more functionality someday.

Of the free options available , WordPress (WP) appears to fit these requirements the best.  We’ll see… what do you prefer?
